At Renewal By Andersen® of Northwest Ohio, we install custom-fit replacement windows that are as energy-efficient as possible. While the individual parts of the windows play a key role in their energy efficiency, the interplay among them is key to their overall performance.
In this post, we share what makes up our energy-efficient windows.
Fibrex® Window Frames
Our replacement windows are framed with our exclusive Fibrex® material. This composite material is made from real wood fibers and plastic polymers, and boasts insulating properties 700 times better than aluminum.
The material provides a wood look to the window frames while being virtually immune to the things that damage real wood, such as moisture, sun damage and fungal growth. Fibrex also doesn’t expand or contract with extreme weather changes so it retains its energy efficient and weathertight seal for years to come.
Spectrally Selective Low-E Coatings
Your new Renewal by Andersen windows boasts several layers of spectrally selective Low-E coating. When compared with the standard Low-E glass, this coating reflects the sun’s infrared and ultraviolet (UV) rays more precisely. This blocks out harmful heat and light from the sun while retaining ample visible transmittance.
Our glass coatings further improve the energy efficiency of the windows by giving them extra insulating properties. Our Low-E4® SmartSun™ glass has a U-factor of 0.24 while allowing only about 28% of solar heat to pass through it.
Double-Glazed Windows
What separates our double-glazed windows from other hardware is the distance between the sheets of the glass. We have optimized the width of air space between each pane to maximize energy efficiency. Our double-pane glass is spaced just enough to ensure its energy performance is high while decreasing the chances of convection.
At Renewal by Andersen of Northwest Ohio, we know that an energy-efficient window is only as good as how it’s installed. That’s why you should entrust your next window replacement project to us. We’ll make sure your new hardware is properly installed so you can take full advantage of its benefits. Give us a call at (419) 931-6087 for a free estimate on our services.
